One of our favorite things here at Adorn Media Group is the fact that we get to work with fabulous bloggers. From lifestyle to fashion to health, the bloggers we spend time with are inspirational and kick some serious butt in their own fields. One our favorite blog ladies is Jessica of My Style Vita, who brings major panache to our Bloglovin’ feeds! It only makes sense that we should share our Jessica obsession with the rest of the blogging world. Need some inspiration for your own style and blog? She’s your girl!
Welcome to #Adorntheblog, Jessica! Tell us, why did you originally start blogging? Has that reason changed?
I originally started a blog to have a writing portfolio. I wanted to get out of my accounting 9-5 and into the world of writing since it’s my first love. I started blogging as a suggestion from my college when I was looking to go back to school. I then started to stumble onto fashion blogs and realized what I was doing was pretty similar! From there I started to expand on more outfit photos. I would say my reasons have definitely changed for why I blog now, but I’m always trying to expand on my writing and recently started contributing to Jezebel Magazine here in Atlanta.
Can you tell us about any blog projects that you’re excited about for 2015?
I’m most excited about planning the 3rd annual Southern Blog Society conference this summer. We recently expanded to the Southwest and I’m so happy to be meeting some of them this summer at our event.
Which bloggers or what blogs do you look to for blogging/style/beauty inspiration?
A few favorites are Brooklyn Blonde for her consistent looks and effortless style. I’ve always been a big fan of Kendi Everyday and is actually the first blog I remember stumbling onto when I first started.
Describe your perfect day.
It would involve lots of naps, snuggles with my dog Pork and indulging in great food.
Coffee or tea?
Depends on my mood, but lately it’s been a lot of tea.
What are your go-to pair of shoes?
My grey d’Orsay Schutz heels. They go with everything
Dream vacation spot?
Anywhere warm where I don’t have to do anything.
Savory or sweet?
Any advice for current bloggers who want to improve their content or traffic?
Stay consistent and keep at it. And find something you want to improve on. For the longest time I wanted to improve on photography and I’m finally comfortable where mine is. Now onto the next thing to improve!
